Eurolite Data Sheet

Most of the laser cut kits on WoodMarvels.com use 4mm, 6mm or 10mm Eurolite Plywood (Italian Poplar). Here is the data sheet regarding this material so you can make an informed purchasing decision. If you wish to use other materials, feel free to contact us for a custom quote or buy the blueprints to make it yourself in your workshop!

Plytech EuroLite

Plytech EuroLite is constructed using only Italian Poplar veneer. The Poplar is sourced from sustainable managed forests with PEFC certification. The PEFC Council is an independent non-profit international organization promoting sustainably managed forests through third party certification. This medium density wood has low bending and resistance to shock loads, low stiffness and medium crushing strength. It also has a medium steam bending classification.

General EuroLite Information

EuroLite is a light weight panel ideally suited for application in the Recreational Vehicle (RV) Industry in order to reduce weight. Eurolite is a flat panel which makes it ideal for overlaying with vinyl, high pressure laminates and wood-grain veneers. EuroLite is manufactured to the most up to date European Standard (UNI-EN 635).

Weight Averages using 2500mm x 1220mm board

4mm = 5kg
6mm = 6.5kg
10mm = 10.8kg

Medium tensile shear strength (N/mm2) / Medium wood failure %

0.20-0.40 / >80
0.40-0.60 / >60
0.60-1.00 / >40

Material Qualities

A versatile plywood that is easy to machine, plane, turn, glue and bore. It has a tendency to split when nailed, therefore screwing and gluing is preferable. Polar is tough and does not splinter.
